Bruce’s career with the Chicago Cubs was seemingly over before it began…then he found the splitter. Bruce passed away in 2022 at age 69. Bruce signed a remarkable deferred compensation deal with Atlanta that provided $4.8 million in deferred cash at 13% interest over 36 years. That smart financial planning made Bruce almost $50 million in retirement!
